debbie_briggs2Debbie Briggs, a member of the Shadowland Board since 1997, has lived in the Ellenville community for over 20 years. She is Vice President of Ellenville Regional Hospital and Executive Director of the Ellenville Regional Hospital Foundation. Other community activities include the New York State Special Olympics, the Ellenville 4th of July Committee and the Ellenville Noonday Club. Although not an actor, the Shadowland Stages is her passion!

 

 

bill_collier2Bill Collier (Board President) was born in Danbury, Connecticut and was admitted to the New York and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of New York bar in 1979. Mr. Collier attended Hamilton College (B.A., 1975) and the Albany Law School of Union University (J.D., 1978). He was an Assistant District Attorney, Ulster County, from 1979 through 1984; Village of Ellenville Attorney from 1983 through 1985; an Assistant Public Defender, Ulster County, NY, since 1986, and Town of Wawarsing Attorney since 2002. Bill Collier is a member of the Ulster County Bar Association (President, 1990-1991), the New York State Bar Association; the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

 

shelley_collier“Shelley Collier, one of the individuals who embraced the idea of nurturing the existence of Shadowland since its very inception, formally joined the board of directors in 2001.  Shelley balances work at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown with time spent golfing, skiing and spending time with her grandchildren.”

 

 

 

john_eckertJohn Eckert (2nd Vice President) has proudly been a member of the Shadowland board since 1997 and has been in professional and academic theater for over thirty years. A 1975 graduate of Ellenville, he credits the late Dennis Warner for his love of theater. John attended SUNY Brockport then went on to work in several regional theaters such as Trinity Rep in Providence RI and Syracuse Stage in Syracuse, NY. Mr. Eckert has been Technical director at Michigan State University in East Lansing and was an adjunct facility member for Lansing Community College in stage and lighting design. Coming to PRG/Scenic Technologies based in New Windsor, NY in the mid 90’s, he worked on many Broadway shows such as SPIDER-MAN, Turn off the Dark, FOLLIES, LION KING, RAGTIME, SHOWBOAT, AND WICKED. John is a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Employees (IATSE), United States Institute for Theater Technology (USITT) and is an Entertainment Technician Certification Program certified theatrical rigger.

 

hollyHolly Eikszta has been a Shadowland board member since 2002. Holly has lived her entire life in Ellenville, is married to David Eikszta and has been the Ellenville Elementary Principal for the last fourteen years. Holly shares her love of the theater with her school each year when they come to Shadowland to see the children’s productions that are performed live on the Shadowland stage. Her community interests also include: the Blueberry Festival, Fourth of July Parade, Noonday Club, Shawagunk Golf Club and Ellenville Regional Hospital.

 

ray_faiolaRay Faiola joined the Shadowland Board in 2008, having moved to Ellenville in 2006. Faiola is Director of Audience Services for CBS Television Network and has been with that company since 1979. As an actor, Ray has appeared in over 50 productions including several Shadowland main stage plays.  He produces Shadowland Stages’ annual live-on-stage Radio Night and also Matinee at the Shadowland, an annual series of classic film presentations.  Member, Actor’s Equity.

 

j_b_gilletteJB Gillette of Ellenville is the President of Gillette Creamery and their family business was named Ulster Counties 2010 Entrepreneurs of the Year. Gillette has 30 years of business experience and currently serves on the Ellenville Regional Hospital Board of Directors, the Nestle National Distributor Council, was past president of the Shawangunk Country Club and has volunteered with many organizations throughout the area.

 

 

elena_k_holyElena K. Holy is the Producing Artistic Director of The Present Theatre Company, Inc. – creators and producers of The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC). She was awarded the New York Magazine Award for her “creativity, vision and enterprise” and was named one of New York Magazine’s “Influentials” because she “turned the Fringe Festival into Sundance for the theater crowd”. In 2007, the festival received the Mayor’s Award for Arts & Culture “for its phenomenal leadership in showcasing the best and boldest theater and performance by both established and emerging artists” and from 2008 to 2011, she served as a Tony Awards Nominator.

 

hillary_jacksonHillary Jackson joined the Shadowland Board in 2016. She is Finance Manager at Exploring the Metropolis, a nonprofit organization that works to address the need for affordable workspace for New York City’s performing artists. Hillary relocated to the Hudson Valley four years ago with the goal of using her skills in nonprofit arts administration to serve the local community. A former ballet dancer, Hillary now works with modern/contemporary dance choreographer Diane McCarthy.

 

jim_mcintyreJim McIntyre has served on the Shadowland Board since 1988 and is the current First Vice-President. Originally asked to join the Board by Ron Marquette, Jim has held a variety of positions and has led numerous initiatives for the theater. Most recently, he has overseen the renovation projects Shadowland Stages has undertaken and has chaired the Capital Campaign Committee with Bob Osgood. A retired schoolteacher, Jim lives in Summitville with his wife of 34 years, Vicki.

 

denise_mooreDenise Moore has been a member of the Shadowland Board for more than twenty years. Currently the Ellenville High School Librarian, Moore received her MA from SUNY New Patlz in 1987 and her MLS from SUNY Albany in 1994. A long time patron of the arts, Moore studied acting under director Brendan Burke and appeared in several productions at the Shadowland.

 

 

robert_osgoodRobert M. Osgood is a retired partner of the international law firm Sullivan & Cromwell, having worked for 42 years out of the firm’s New York and London offices. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a director of Dell’Arte Opera Ensemble in New York.

 

 

carl_rosenstockCarl Rosenstock was born in Ellenville. He is retired secretary-treasurer of General Sportwear, a manufacturer of children’s jeanswear. Carl served on the Ellenville National Bank and Provident Bank boards of directors. He is currently serving on the Village of Ellenville Planning Board and Revolving Loan Committee. Additionally, he is serving on the Ellenville Regional Hospital foundation board.

 

 

john_simonJohn Simon is a self-described “compulsory musician”. Having produced recordings for major artists of the 1970s (The Band, Leonard Cohen, Janis Joplin et al), he now relishes his Thursday night gigs with his jazz trio 3 doors east of the Shadowland. Along with his wife, actress C.C. Loveheart, who has appeared in several Shadowland productions, John is the co-author of “Jackass Flats” which had its premiere at Shadowland in 2011.

 

 

robyn_smithRobyn Smith grew up in English theater, making her professional stage debut at the age of ten. After years of studying theater, she travelled to New York and worked off-Broadway. She formed an acting company and was a member of the Shadowland Theatre’s Founding Cooperative Artists Group. Relocating to Los Angeles, Robyn became a creative executive, working with writers and producers in film and television.  In 2013, after purchasing the historic Captain Schoonmaker’s Inn in High Falls, NY, she realized her dream to be re-involved in Shadowland as a member of the Board of Directors.

 

andy_walterAndy Walter studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC. He was the President and one of the original Cooperative Artists group that bought and opened the Shadowland as a professional theater in 1985. Andy has served on the board of Shadowland since 2007 and is currently the administrator and instructor of the Shadowland Academy.
