Shadowland Theatre Issues 2010 Summer Season’s

Call-for-Local Auditions

Theatre Seeks Local Talent for 26th Season;

Invites Actors’ Equity Members and Non-Union Actors to May 15 Audition

ELLENVILLE, NY, May 6, 2010 – Shadowland Theatre today announced that it will hold auditions for its 2010 summer season on Sunday, May 15 from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm at the theatre, located at 157 Canal Street in downtown Ellenville, NY.

Shadowland, which celebrated its 25th anniversary season in 2009, is the premier, non-profit, professional theatre of the Hudson Valley/Catskills region.

Hoping to draw from the best talent that the Hudson Valley and Catskills regions has to offer, Brendan Burke, producing artistic director at Shadowland Theatre, said, “We utilize both union and non-union actors and look forward to a large response this year.  While it is preferred that actors auditioning prepare a brief monologue of their choosing, sides will be available if necessary.  In addition, it’s preferred but not mandatory that actors submit a headshot and resume the day of the audition.”

Shadowland seeks talent for four of its five summer season productions, including the dramatic comedy “Guest Artist” by Jeff Daniels; the musical “The Marvelous Wonderettes; the comedy “Red Herring” by Michael Hollinger; and the New York premiere of the new thriller by Steven Dietz, “Yankee Tavern.”

Also featured this season, which is already cast and for which the theatre is only seeking potential replacements, is the new contemporary comedy, “Two Jews Walk Into a War…” by Seth Rozin.

Specific character descriptions and other information can be found on the theatre’s website at: www.shadowlandtheatre.org.
