Our 2011 Season

THE SEAFARER
June 3-June 19
It’s Dublin, Ireland on Christmas Eve and four old friends gather for a night of poker and drink. But when a stranger arrives and joins the game- a man’s very soul is in the pot and up for grabs...

This award-winning and epic Faustian fable of a drunken Christmas Eve has all the earmarks of its talented playwright. Witty dialogue, fascinating characters and a supernatural twist are mixed to create this hilarious and haunting cocktail that earned Tony and Olivier Award nominations for Best Play.

JACKASS FLATS
June 24 - July 10
It’s Las Vegas, 1951, and Kay has special plans for a trip with her daughter. But her uptight and out-of-touch sister in law, Virginia, butts in and this unusual trio of women take a road trip to a sunrise picnic at the dawn of the nuclear age...

Deceptions are uncovered and truths are revealed in an explosive and comic tale of love and survival. This world-premiere comedy is a thoughtful story of a trip to a place called Jackass Flats- a place of reckoning and revelation, during a turning point in America’s evolution.

THE ANDREWS BROTHERS
July 15- August 14
When a case of chickenpox quarantines the Andrews Sisters right before a big USO show, 3 brave stage hands and an intrepid pin-up girl must step with a plan to save the show…

A swinging tribute to the music of WWII, this hilarious hit from the creator of last year’s success, THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES, is a madcap story that features the music that sustained a generation. It’s “Some Like It Hot” meets The Marx Brothers in this madcap musical tribute that features hits like “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy”, “Don’t Sit Under The Apple Tree”, “Rosie the Riveter” and more!

THE LADIES MAN
August 19 - September 11
A mischievous French Doctor tells a ‘tiny, little, hardly noticeable lie’ to his suspicious, young wife to cover an embarrassing indiscretion and his world becomes unhinged. Throw in a monstrous mother-in-law, meddlesome servants, a jealous Prussian soldier, a patient with an outrageous lisp and more doors than any house should hold and you’ve got an outrageous farce of deception, wit and mistaken identities with more energy than the Moulin Rouge.

Loosely adapted from Feydeau’s TAILLEUR POUR DAMES, this hilarious farce has all the elements of a side-splitting evening of theatre. Contemporarily told with a classical touch- this is a classic comedy for the ages.

MEDAL OF HONOR RAG
September 16 - October 2
In an Army hospital in 1971, a black winner of the Congressional Medal of Honor is being examined and questioned by a psychiatrist. Both men are survivals with guilt, haunted by their pasts and desperate and hopeful for redemption…

Based on a true story, this Vietnam era drama was written in 1975, This soldier’s struggles with readjusting to post-war life are revealed in this chilling story that is as relevant today as when it first premiered.
