James Cagney stars in this free-wheeling musical comedy about a dancing bandleader who gets his chance to go to Hollywood. He soon finds that Tinseltown isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Who better to star on April Fools Day than the cinema’s greatest clown Charlie Chaplin in his most enduring feature THE GOLD RUSH. This silent classic is presented in its original 1925 release version with a superb piano score by the legendary William Perry. Co-starring Georgia Hale and Mack Swain.

Our series concludes with a Technicolor adaptation of one of the most beloved American novels, The Shepherd of the Hills. Starring John Wayne, Harry Carey, Betty Field (who starred in last season’s OF MICE AND MEN), Ward Bond, Beulah Bondi, James Barton, Marjorie Main and Marc Lawrence. Henry Hathaway directed this haunting and inspirational story of the Ozarks.
